====== Subject Prefixes ======

Subject prefixes are used within the C3D file to distinguish between subjects. Visual3D include subject prefixes as part of its [[visual3d:documentation:definitions:multisubject|Multisubject]] support. Subject prefixes should not be confused with [[visual3d:documentation:definitions:subject_tags|Subject Tags]], which allow users to associate a generic label (a tag) with a subject in a C3D file

===== Within the C3D File ====

The C3D file contains a parameter to specify the subject prefix. This should be specified by your motion capture system and can be different from C3D file to C3D file

===== Using Subject Prefixes =====

For multisubject data, specifying a subject prefix in the [[visual3d:documentation:definitions:model_builder_mode|Model Builder tab]] allows users to select which subject to create segments for.
