A query allows users to reference the data table to set a file as active. If the expression is true, that file will be set to active. If the expression is false, the file will not be set as active.

+==== Queries in Inspect3D and Sift ====
+Inspect3D and Sift use queries to select specific signals are from the current [[Visual3D:Documentation:Definitions:CMO_Library_|CMO Library]]. Queries correspond to groups and each query contains an arbitrary number (1-n) of Definitions, which correspond to the group's sub-groups. Signals in these sub-groups can be selected or not selected based on further refinements and time-normalized based on user-specified events.
